The William Inge Boyhood Home

< Inge Center Home

William Inge's boyhood home was the inspirational setting for many of his plays, in particular Come Back, Little Sheba, Picnic, and The Dark at the Top of the Stairs. The William Inge Festival Foundation has restored the home with period furnishings. The Inge Center uses the house as a residence for guest artist playwrights and artists. During the annual Inge Festival, its parlor turns into a stage, where Scenes at the Inge House perform.

Tours are available by special arrangement, depending events that are scheduled at the house. For more information, contact (620) 332-5492.
