Dee Byrd-Molnar is thrilled to be here in Kansas, and working as a part of the William Inge Center. Dee relocated to Kansas in 2020, having spent the previous 20 years in New York City, to join her husband, Paul Molnar, who took an associate professor position teaching theater at Independence Community College. While in NYC, Dee worked as an actor, director, producer, and at their collective ‘survival job’ SOUTH, a wonderful neighborhood bar Dee and Paul owned and operated. Dee was also the Co-Founder and Producing Artistic Director of South Brooklyn Shakespeare, a 501(c)(3) company that brought free Shakespeare to the streets and parks of Brooklyn for 6 seasons. In addition to her Shakespeare company, she ran a pilot program that brought Shakespeare into an under-privileged neighborhood in Brooklyn.
