WILLIAM INGE HOME
BOYHOOD HOME OF WILLIAM INGE
William Inge's family home, at 514 N. 4th was the inspiration for the plays, COME BACK, LITTLE SHEBA; PICNIC; and DARK AT THE TOP OF THE STAIRS. The William Inge Festival Foundation has restored the home with period furniture and uses it for playwright and theatre artist residencies, performances of scenes, for tours and hosting meetings and parties in the community. Thanks to the recent efforts of the William Inge Festival Foundation (501c3) the public spaces of the house are now fully accessible for the disabled.
