Cherise Boothe

Cherise Booth (she/her) is an award winning actress with work in various mediums including Live Theatre, Film, TV, Commercials, Voice Over for Audiobooks, Animation, Video Games and Commercials.  She was seen as Undine in Signature Theatre’s highly acclaimed revival of Lynn Nottage’s Fabulation, Or The Re-Education Of Undine for which she won her second Obie Award for Performance (Lucille Lortel Nom. Outstanding Revival, Drama Desk Nom. Outstanding Revival of a Play).  Her first Obie was awarded for her performance in Kirsten Greenidge’s Milk Like Sugar (Playwrights Horizons/WP Theater/La Jolla).  She may be best known for originating the role of Josephine in Lynn Nottage’s Pulitzer Prize winning play Ruined (Goodman/MTC). Other Theatre credits include: West Coast premiere of Robert O’Hara’s Barbecue (Geffen, NAACP Theatre Award Best Ensemble Cast), Danai Gurira’s Familiar (Yale Rep), Sarah Treem’s When We Were Young And Unafraid (MTC) and Suzan-Lori Parks’ Father Comes Home From The Wars (Parts 1, 2 & 3) (Public Theater Lab)For her accomplished and extensive work in Regional Theatre, Cherise received a Lunt-Fontanne Fellowship.  Film/TV credits include: Ricki and the Flash (opposite/Meryl Streep) 42 (w/Chadwick Boseman, Nicole Beharie), The Wool Cap (opposite/Keke Palmer, William H. Macy), Dispatches From Elsewhere (opposite/Jason Segel, Sally Field, André 3000, Eve Lindley and Richard E. Grant), The Good Doctor, Westworld, The Resident, Amazing Stories, New Amsterdam, The Blacklist, CSI, Rizzoli & Isles, Major Crimes, The Good Wife and L&O:SVU.  Voice Over in Film/TV/Video Games: Everyones Hero, DreamWorks Kung Fu Panda: The Paws of Destiny as Jade Tusk,  Overwatch as Sojourn, Guild Wars 2 as Zafirah, Agents of Mayhem as Agent Janel Braddock and Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens.  Her audiobook narration of The Parker Inheritance by Varian Johnson helped lead to its selection by the American Library Association to receive a prestigious Odyssey Honor award.  Most recently, she received an Earphones Award and an Audie Nomination for her narration of Rise! From Caged Bird to Poet of the People, Maya Angelou. She received her MFA from NYU Graduate Acting.
