Diane Hightower

Diane Hightower (she/her) is a lesbian feminist playwright living in the suburbs of Kansas City. She began playwriting to give a voice to lesbian experiences and bring opportunities for female and LGBTQ performers to the stage. Her work has appeared in the Kansas City Fringe Festival (2016), Midwest Dramatists Conference (2019), Alphabet Soup: Stories from Queer Voices (2017, 2018, 2019, and 2021), and Rising Tides Productions: The Progress plays (2019). Previous plays include Lesbians Definitely Not Lost in Space, The Last Michigan, Lesbian Potluck, Lesbians beyond the Fringe, Pastiche (a collaborative playwriting experience), Down Deer, Habitat, and Operation Find the Selkie. She has a Bachelor of Liberal Arts from UMKC. She lives in Westwood, Kansas with her wife, two children, and a very spoiled Great Pyrenees mix.
