Isabel Nelson

Isabel Nelson (she/they) is a performer, director, and theatre creator based in Saint Paul, MN. She trained at the Lecoq-based London International School of Performing Arts (LISPA), and subsequently founded award-winning physical theater ensemble Transatlantic Love Affair (TLA). With TLA, she has conceived and directed five original works (Ballad of the Pale Fisherman, Red Resurrected, Emilie/Eurydice, The Devout, and After the Fires), and collaborated on four others (Ash Land, These Old Shoes, Solitaire, and Promise Land (co-director)). She is currently pursuing her M.Div. in Theology and the Arts from United Theological Seminary in St. Paul, MN, where she is exploring the ways in which storytelling/creative practice, spirituality, and social justice work are profoundly intertwined.
