Jack DePalma (Creative Producer,Dramaturg); began his career as the casting associate of Cis Corman on films “Nighthawks”, “King of Comedy”, “Author! Author!”, “Yentl”, ‘Once Upon a Time in America” and “The Last Temptation of Christ”. While working at Barwood Films with Cis Corman and Barbra Streisand, Jack worked closely with Streisand on the script for “Yentl” and development of scripts for “Nuts”, “Prince of Tides” and other unrealized projects. While there, Jack also created and produced a pilot for CBS at Warner Bros. He segued to working in the theater, first with Drew Hodges at the founding of SpotCo, then as Creative Director for Barry and Fran Weisller on projects such as Chicago, Annie Get Your Gun, Seussical, Wonderful Town, Sweet Charity and This is Our Youth, as well as on the development of musical adaptations of Clueless and The Opposite of Sex (Magic Theater and Williamstown Theater Festival) as well as with Douglas Carter Beane on the stage version of The Band Wagon (Old Globe and City Center Encores) He served as Play Development Director at the Old Globe, producing projects such as: Matthew Lopez’ The Whipping Man, Duncan Sheik’s Whisper House, Leslie Bricusse’s Sammy and the musicals The First Wives Club and Robin and the 7 Hoods. He’s worked as a freelance consultant on projects such as: a musical adaptation of Frank Beddor’s novel, “The Looking Glass Wars” with Jonathan Caren and Ryan Scott Oliver, Damon Intrabartolo’s immersive “PopNation’ (Creative Producer), and “Love is Blind” with Warner Media. He has been on the selection committees of NAMT and The Rhinebeck Writers Retreat and the Quinn Foundation. He currently runs Playwright Therapy. where he works with playwrights and musical book writers as a dramaturge, strategist and development producer, and has several of his own projects in the works. He has worked with Andrew Stein on his play Disruption for four years and has guided it through 3 readings to a world premiere in London in July 2023.
