Kara Lee Corthron’s (New Voices Award winner) plays include Welcome to Fear City (CATF, Kansas City Rep), AliceGraceAnon (New Georges), Holly Down in Heaven (Forum Theatre, DC), Listen for the Light (Know Theatre of Cincinnati), and What Are You Worth? She’s the author of the young-adult novel, The Truth of Right Now from Simon & Schuster. Awards: Parents’ Choice Gold Award for The Truth of Right Now, proud member of New Dramatists, 2018 Cultural Diaspora Creative Residency (France), Finalist for the 2018 McKnight National Residency and Commission, Vineyard Theatre’s Paula Vogel Playwriting Award, Princess Grace Award, Helen Merrill Award, Lincoln Center’s Lecomte du Nouy Prize (three-time recipient), four MacDowell fellowships, residencies at Bogliasco (Italy), Skriðuklaustur (Iceland), Hawthornden (Scotland), and the Millay Colony. Her work has been produced and developed at Ars Nova, Atlantic Theater Company, BAPF, Berkeley Rep, CenterStage (Baltimore), EST, Horizon Theatre (Atlanta), LAByrinth, Naked Angels, New Dramatists, New Georges, The Orchard Project, P73, PlayPenn, Seven Devils Playwrights Conference (Guest Artist, 2012), South Coast Rep, TheatreWorks (Palo Alto), the Vineyard Theatre, and WP Theater among others.
